Long Haul

Well we have now passed the 400 KLM mark and counting the team is looking great and I'm feeling Great after the H1N1 scrap, also the 4 dog sprint Team looks real good on the trail they seem to have some good run in them, (sprinters mean that these dogs will run 4 miles in the fastest time possible ,My wife says i can have my distance team and sleep in the cold in -30 and so on because she says she will be in a warm bed by 9 everyone raced, Fed, and ready for a goods night rest,Ya rub it in ,It was cool enough today that i could have used my cold weather boots and winter gloves ,but back to the sprinters the 4 dogs we have are from some quality sprint Dog bloodlines I'M looking forward to watching my wife run ,in this picture the two females seem to be squaring off as the distance girl says I'm in for the Long Haul

Lest we forget

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

— Lt.-Col. John McCrae (1872 - 1918)

Down with that

Well it sure has been one of my worst weeks of my life and counting what i thought was just the flu bug turns out to be H1N1 and its a nasty bug ,with bouts of Constance coughing followed by a horrendous head ace because of the coughing is just the beginning of this imported disease followed by every other symptom possible ,needless to say my partners out in the kennel are wondering if i have deserted them. As i am unable to even leave the house and they want to run what was starting out to be a great training season, sure changed in a hurry ,that being said from what I read and hear some victims of this nasty virus did not get a chance to write a post so I thank my Lucky stars ,I believe I owe a million heartfelt thank to my wonderful wife and daughter who have catered to my every whimper ,I do appreciate them so much more, and need them,I would encourage everyone that can get the shot to do so ,the suffering is not worth it,How i feel today is the dogs can wait, my race season can end and I'd be happy with that ,once better we will regroup and start over although its only been a week I believe all will work out in the end ,I say to all Take a shot, SO you don't come down with that........................

Night of the Wolfman

Well Halloween has come and gone, went out trick or treating with my youngest in GP ,they are very generous with there candy walked about two blocks each side and we were full .And her tired between my two girls, I have abut 16 years of spotting the good houses to hit or what neighbourhoods to Cruise, and its great to see the other ghost and goblins out and about. On the downside it is cold out and really the start of serious training with the promise of snow around each corner of the day I took the team on our longest training run a 25 Klm run and they looked great and wanted more ,we will now add a little more on each run, went to go for a run today but I found the snow crust was quite hard and did not feel like soring up a dog, when all is going well ,we have picked out a 300+ mile race we think we will enter unless some other opportunity's appears we sign up by the end of this month,I will try to add the link here real soon as we are now gearing to to find some sponsorship as the cost to
do this canine habit can take a good chunk out of the children's inheritance,LOL, HMMM that was a tasty hotdog OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW, Keep that frown upside down have a great week you all
